Unique Locations for Engagement Pictures

I recently responded to a post on a wedding forum in regards to “different locations for Engagement Pictures”.

It’s a topic I’ve thought a lot about myself seeing that we’ll hopefully be taking ours this fall…why have your photos taken at some old park (unless it’s a special park, of course) walking by a random tree when you can go to a place where the two of you actually enjoy visiting? a place that means something to the two of you…

And while you’re at it, just make it a date!

Such unique locations might include:

the aquarium

couple at aquarium

a carnival

couple_carnival

the local Art Museum

the apple orchard

the cafe

one of my favs: eating ice cream cones together

I hope that for part of our engagement session, we’ll stroll around the University of Rhode Island campus, where we met, Summer 2006…

maybe get some coffee after at a favorite coffee house in south kingstown

and end up where we had our first date, and got engaged: galilee beach :-)

More Bridesmaid Dress Ideas

The brainstorming continues…I’m not completely married to turquoise…my heart still skips a beat for cobalt, and while I promised no pink would appear in our wedding, I DO love vibrant magenta and coral.

Both of these styles have optional spaghetti straps which I want to offer as a choice if we go with one style for the bridesmaids.

Trust me – I can’t wait to make up my mind on a color!! I just don’t want to choose without the girls trying anything on yet :-) A couple of more months…

I’m a Pearly Blogger!

pearly_blogger

Jen at A Girl in Pearls is featuring me on her blog today! Jen is so much fun and I began following her blog when I got engaged last year! She was such an organized and detail-oriented bride, and she has been a source of inspiration ever since!

She’s been writing “Wedding Wednesdays'” over at WeddingStories blog – check it out sometime! I hope to be a featured bride in the future.

My blog highlights my wedding planning process, my art and design, and everyday life.

Stay tuned for great DIY wedding projects including painted wine bottles (they will serve as 1/3 of my reception centerpieces…more like tablescapes), custom stationery designed by myself and a unique guest book idea!

Feel free to introduce yourself if you’re new to my blog :-) Thanks for stopping by!

Make-up Artist Chosen!

Without a doubt, I’ve chosen Kristin Greene!

Here’s a photo from my first trial. It looked and felt so natural, especially for a person that doesn’t wear face makeup on a daily basis. It looked the same even after 9 hours!

I hope to have more fun this summer as well – it’s nice to have a long time to experiment!

Kristin is such a peach, a total expert in her field and is going to be offering hair styling to her brides in the future!

Amazing Birthday

Let's just say there was lots of cake (I ate cake Thursday through Sunday!). Thursday I had dinner with my sister and cousins, then had coffee and dessert with Nicole, my future-sis-in-law, and Dan's Aunt & Uncle @ Main Street Coffee in East Greenwich. I then arrived home to gorgeous pink tulips from Dan!! (who was not yet home because he works until 11pm).

Dan surprised me Friday night with a birthday dinner with my closest friends and siblings at one of our favorite restaurants - Cucina Twist in South Kingstown, RI. I was pretty much clueless up until I saw familiar cars in the parking lot! Dinner was followed by bowling!

Here's the bunch :-)

and us <3

Saturday, Dan's family took the fam and I out for a birthday dinner which was followed by another birthday celebration :-)

And on Easter Sunday my fam had a cake for me during dessert. It was a perfect weekend with perfect weather! I love love love surprises :-)

25

25 is such a nice number graphically (of course I’d say that). It’s nice and even…I’m trying to find everything right with turning 25!

I enjoy my birthday, I really do! I love surprises!

Fun birthday stories to come!

To think – I’ll be 26 when we get married next year…
