It’s Time to Party!

Well, almost.

Monday night, Dan and I went to meet with Victor Rodrigues of Party Time Pro DJs. For 2 hours, the 3 of us chatted about our reception, his style, home renovating! and cool “techie” things. He remixed “I Got A Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas on the spot to give us a taste of what it’d be like to have us enter the ballroom to that song! (Not that' we’re going to because it’s 18 months away [ugh] and a new song could come out).

He’s energetic, fun, detail-oriented, knowledgeable and so on point. We got in the car, Dan looked at me and said “Cancel all of your other appointments, he’s the one”. We were so pumped that night about who we’d just met. Victor is most definitely going to bring his A game to our reception. So many other brides and brides-to-be have also recommended Victor. We know that our friends and family are going to show up ready to party the night away to all kinds of music…including Bob Seger (Sara, get your Dad ready).

Again, this whole wedding planning thing has opened up so many doors! I sincerely want to thank everyone we’ve booked thus far – you’re all truly wonderful and talented individuals!

Next task: Booking our videographer :) Stay tuned – this is going to be a tough one!

The Single-Bloom Bouquet

I love the simplicity of a bouquet that contains only one flower. Though I am not tied to tulips just yet, I envision I’ll be carrying either golden yellow, peach, or orange tulips. My girls will carry off white to complement my dress and my Maid of Honor will carry off white mixed with whatever color I end up carrying. I would consider carrying another flower, but I just love the simplicity of the tulip itself – clean lines, simple shape, and when packed together, they form an abundant bunch.

Here are some photos I’ve found so far:

No roses…just love these colors together.

Well I’ll be! Lemons + tulips!

Only Heinz Will Suffice

Another food post. To those that know me well, this won't be a bit surprising. I wanted to showcase the magnet that my fiance's cousin Sara got me, pictured here on the "Marketing Fridge" here at the office! She knows how much I love ketchup...and not just any has to be Heinz...on fries and other potato varieties, scrambled eggs, toast (when had with eggs), beef stew, fish n chips...I'm sure I'm missing some items. So, if there is a need for ketchup at the wedding, I hope the Crowne will provide Heinz ;-)

Seven Things You May Not Know About Me

1 - I played competitive soccer from age 10-18. Soccer was, is, and forever will be, my favorite sport to both play and watch. An assistant coach used to call me "The Boot". I sinc
erely miss being a Lady Cougar for North Providence High School. I also yearn for the days when I played with the Smithfield Girls' Travel Team! We used to travel throughout the state of RI to play, and frequented the RI Seaside Classic and the Holliston Memorial Day Tournaments.

2 - I am 24 years old and wearing braces in hopes to have nicer teeth someday! Yes, in time for the day of our wedding :-)

3 - I love cats, especially kittens (who doesn't?), and currently have a female tuxedo cat. Her name is Lia, and my sister and I got her in June 2008. Tuxedo cats are, by far, my favorite type of cat. Here she is as a baby!

4 - I spent 4 weeks living and researching in Darmstadt, Germany for the National Science Foundation.

5 - My Italian ancestors hail from Cassino and Frosinone, Italy.

6 - I drink 3-4 liters of water per day thanks to my SIGG bottle!

7 - I'm an artist and my favorite thing to study and paint is the sun, sky, and clouds. I love the interaction between light and clouds especially at sunrise and sunset. Ask Dan - it was just last night that I was driving us to the store and I will take my eyes off the road just to gawk at the amazing color of the clouds. Last night's sunset was spectacular. This shot was taken at sunrise a few weeks ago in Westerly over Misquamicut Beach.

The 7 bloggers I nominate for the Kreativ Blogger Award are:

Shabby Blogs - Not a specific person, but LOTS of eye candy

Superdave - Finally, a GROOM that blogs!

Some of my favorite dresses

So with 602 days left before the big day, I certainly have a lot of time on my hands to plan. I've been dress "browsing" twice so far, tried on about 20 dresses between both trips, and definitely know what style dress is for me. However, I have not yet found "the one", nor have I saved up enough to make the purchase. That will come in time, for sure :-)

Sottero & Midgley and Maggie Sottero are, by far, my favorite designers. Their dresses are both gorgeous and within my budget so it's really a win/win.

I definitely am searching for: assymetry, rouching, some bling (Overly embellished things are not for me, hence why my solitaire is just my style), light ivory or diamond white because I am fair skinned, strapless, sweetheart neckline, satin or silk, long train...

Here are some of my favs that all happen to be the style that fits my body the best:
I absolutely love Fiorella by Maggie (last photo here) and it has just enough bling on the strap, but really unsure about one strap.
